Solving pH problems

The measurement and control of pH in wastewater from industrial plants can be a difficult problem to solve, and it is becoming important because many municipalities now penalise companies who discharge polluted water. Part of the problem is that the wastewater often consists of various compounds that are too complex for typical combination pH sensors. Even plant engineers do not always have a good understanding of all the chemical interactions taking place within this complex chemical 'soup' mixture. Its makers claim that the GLI Differential pH sensor can generally solve this sort of problem.

A 4-page technical bulletin has recently been published by GLI, which explains the weaknesses and limitations of conventional pH measuring techniques, and how these can be overcome. The end result is better accuracy and reliability, with less downtime and maintenance. GLI's differential pH sensors are supplied with a one-year warranty, and an offer to provide a replacement at a pro-rata price, should a sensor fail within 30 months, for any reason at all.
