The new ASI-PSCM 100-240 AC AS interface power supplies from Phoenix Contact are characterised by an integrated earth leakage monitor for safe system operation. This enables dangerous states for human beings and materials in AS-i networks to be prevented with foresight.
If two earth connections occur in an AS-i network, then this may result in an undesirable start-up and run-through of a machine. The AS-i power supplies already reliably recognise the first earth connection so that machines and systems can be specifically shut down. The signal output of the devices can be integrated in the signal circuits and used in a control program for monitored shutdown of the machine or system.
The AS-i power supplies have been designed for international use. Thanks to a wide range input of 100 to 240 V a.c./130–370 V d.c. they can be used in all common industrial mains without having to switch them over manually.
