Manual setting fibre-optic amplifier made easy

March 2002 Sensors & Transducers

Instead of indicating the amplifiers status by just two LED, Omron's E3X-NA amplifiers include an LED bar display, showing the light level at a glance. Not only convenient, these LED allow even more precise setting which results in up to seven times higher accuracy. Along with this new feature the sensing distance is now extended to twice that of the current model, making the fibreoptic amplifier a useful application solver.

The E3X-NA is available with three different connection methods: beside the familiar pre-wired connection, Omron's unique 'Save-wiring' connectors are now available. Useful when mounted in line, the power is supplied to one amplifier whereas for the others only the output lines need to be connected. M8 industrial standard connectors combined with IP66 housing complete the range.

An optical communication link between the amplifiers ensures outstanding mutual interference immunity. Close mounting of fibre heads in limited space is no longer a problem. Only 10 mm wide, the E3X-NA family is equipped with an off-delay timer and an 8-turn adjustment knob as a standard.

High-speed models with a response time of less than 0,02 ms make the detection of minute objects possible. A mark detection model using a green LED as light source completes the family. E3X-NA is the logical complement for simple applications compared to the digital settable fibre-optic amplifier E3X-DA, offering all the flexibility and power ever needed.
