The Powerterm industrial grade power supply/battery backup range from Omniflex has been standardised by many major utilities around the world. It is the ideal solution where battery backup is necessary to ensure continuous operation of dataloggers, RTUs, remote field instrumentation and remote access systems, during power failures.
The PTS model, which forms part of the Powerterm range is a combined solar regulator and power supply system with integrated standby battery management, designed for small solar powered applications. The PTS allows connection of a solar panel (up to 140 W) and a sealed lead acid battery to provide an industrial grade solar powered system, perfect for providing DC power to 12 or 24 VDC instruments where mains power supply is not possible.
The PTS has been designed to ensure that the batteries, as well as the field instrument, are well protected. Built-in safety features include under voltage cut-out, to protect the battery from deep discharge and fault protection, which disconnects the load/instrument if a fault condition is detected. The PTS also has a temperature sensor that compensates for changes in ambient temperature to keep the battery at its optimum.
The complete Powerterm range is specifically designed for industrial instrumentation and is well proven in RTU and remote standby applications exposed to harsh environments. Use of carefully selected long-life components and conservative design parameters combine to provide the complete compact PSU/battery backup solution a dependable one.
