Visitor friendly Fluidtrans & Airtech 2002

January 2002 News

Reed Exhibitions believes that the latest exhibitor innovation planned for Fluidtrans & Airtech 2002 is set to make this premier hydraulics, pneumatics and motion control exhibition the most visitor-friendly yet.

Exhibitors are now being offered the chance to book unmanned 'Enquiry Boxes' on a centrally situated stand, for the collection of visitor queries about equipment repairs, training, career opportunities and so on.

"The response so far has been very, very good," said Reed Industrial Exhibitions' Karyn de Wet. "In just over a week, we have had 31 bookings - 20 from companies involved in training, and 11 that specialise in repairs."

The enquiry boxes, measuring 1 m2 and featuring exhibitor company branding, will be separately mounted on a single shell scheme stand in Hall 3. "Visitors, especially those in a hurry, will simply post a note giving details of their queries into the appropriate box for the exhibitor to make follow-up contact," said General Manager Tom McCafferty.

While a number of exhibitors have booked these enquiry boxes as an addition to their stands, some smaller companies will be using them as a substitute for full-blown participation.

"As much as they want to take part in the exhibition, some of the smaller operations feel that they cannot afford to take an entire stand. Having an enquiry box gives them a very cost-effective alternative," said McCafferty.

Fluidtrans & Airtech 2002 will be co-located with three other synergistic exhibitions - Electrex 2002; Logistics 2002; and Frigair 2002 - making this combined event the largest gathering of nonmining industrialists on show on the African continent. The combined event will be open to the trade from 10h00-18h00 daily from 13-15 March at Gallagher Estate in Midrand.

"Although we expect there will be considerable cross-over interest among the visitors, each exhibition will be separately situated in its own hall," said McCafferty. "Entrance to the event will be through Logistics 2002 in Hall 1. Visitors will then proceed to Electrex 2002 in Hall 2; Fluidtrans & Airtech in Hall 3; and Frigair 2002 in Hall 5. The 'What's New' pavilion, an exclusive showcase of products and services that are new to these markets, will be situated in Hall 4."

(As this is a trade exhibition, visitors must be 18 years or older.)
