GHM Messtechnik South Africa has introduced the Delta OHM HD35 wireless data-logging device into the local market. With wireless capabilities, the logging system enables users to remotely access all monitored data via the Delta OHM cloud service.
Managing director, Jan Grobler says that the Delta OHM HD35 is a state-of-the-art, plug-and-play wireless data-logging system. It can either interface to a PLC or a PC and the user-friendly software makes for ease of installation. “We believe it is a data-logging system that offers a superior functionality across a broad spectrum of industrial sectors, it is cost-efficient precision technology at its best,” he adds.
Technicalities
Allowing monitoring of many physical quantities in various applications, the Delta OHM HD35 data-loggers monitor:
• Temperature.
• Relative humidity.
• Atmospheric pressure. and differential pressure.
• Illuminance (lux) and UV irradiance.
• Carbon monoxide (CO).
• Carbon dioxide (CO2).
• Acceleration.
The models that measure relative humidity and temperature can also calculate derived humidity quantities. The calculated quantities depend on the model and can be dew point, wet bulb temperature, absolute humidity, mixing ratio and partial vapour pressure.
The external measuring probes are connected to the data-logger via a M12 connector or terminals, depending on the model selected. In addition, some have built-in sensors.
The Delta OHM wireless data-logging systems are typically utilised in the following industries:
• Food services: refrigerated containers, cold storage, production and carriage of food.
• Health: storage of medicines, vaccines, blood, monitoring of incubators and operating theatres.
• Greenhouse and agricultural crops.
• Environmental analyses: air quality, meteorology and hydrology.
• Museums and document archives.
• Transportation of perishable and fragile goods (monitoring of shocks by measuring acceleration).
• Air conditioning.
• Clean rooms.
• Laboratories.
• Industrial processes.
“Once the parameters are set, alarms are activated in the event of peaks and dips, with the appropriate personnel instantaneously notified. This is real-time wireless monitoring that is always online, accessible and accurate” concludes Grobler.
