The mA-2000 clamp-on milliammeter from PREI Instrumentation measures very low DC and AC currents without breaking into the circuit. By allowing one to make stable and accurate measurements of 4-20 mA, this instrument is very convenient when commissioning process instrumentation, and when testing and troubleshooting control loops. Other application areas are in R&D laboratories, measuring ground currents and power supply loads in electronic circuits.
The instrument has an easy to-read 31/2-digit display, a mV/mA analog output for BNC connection to an oscilloscope or recorder, and DC basic accuracy of 1% of reading. The low range is 0-200 mA d.c. or RMS a.c. and the high range is 0-2000 mA d.c. or peak a.c. The aperture opening on the detachable probe is 5,3 mm, and the instrument is rated for use up to 200 kHz. The size of the meter is 135 x 132 x 38 mm, and it operates off two 9 V batteries.
