Philips appoints Escort Memory Systems as I•Code-Net partner

Escort Memory Systems (EMS), a leading supplier of proven, innovative RFID technologies, recently announced its appointment into the I•Code-Net partnership program.

Philips has specifically designed this program to ensure that end-user applications are serviced by experienced, skilful and professional companies able to deliver I•Code-Net-based solutions that match end-user expectations.

EMS has successfully delivered I•Code solutions in the marketplace since the beginning of 1999. Its FastTrack series of tags use Philips I•Code-Net technology. Coupled with EMS' unique, patented design, this technology has enabled the most advanced, long-range readers in the RFID industry. EMS' growing presence in applications ranging from identifying smart pallets to tracking priority mail packages and even cars, has enhanced its reputation across the board.

International Standard for 13,56 MHz RFID technologies imminent

13,56 MHz radio frequency identification (RFID) technology, used in contactless cards and RFID smart labels, reached a milestone on the way towards full international standardisation with the recent unanimous vote by the International Standards Organisation (ISO) to make ISO/IEC 15693-2 an international standard.

I•Code-Net ICs can also store a digital signature, enabling proof of authenticity and preventing goods from being counterfeited.
