Switches International claims a growing popularity over the past five years with its successful range of TJC sensors from Europe. This range of infrared sensors have a wide range of applications such as safety on machines, item sensing/counting on assembly lines, etc.
Available in a wide variety of options, including proximity sensors, emitter/receiver, and through-beam combinations, these units occupy minimal space when mounting the infrared sensors with an external microprocessor based amplifier. Various housing and shape options are also available, and feature sensing ranges of up to 30 m.
The amplifiers are available in supply voltages ranging from 12 V a.c./d.c. up to 240 V a.c. and feature either relay or solid state/transistor outputs. Options include dual, and four channel isolated outputs for multiple sensors. Optimal sensing is ensured by the amplifier's automatic sensitivity adjustment feature. This function means that even in dusty conditions the sensor operation is kept at optimal sensing power, and also assists when moderate misalignment has occurred.
