IDX Academy scores a first for Africa

1 May 2015 News

IDX Academy has successfully completed the rigorous certification process required to offer fieldbus training courses certified under the Foundation Fieldbus Certified Training Programme (FCTP). This programme establishes uniform standards for fieldbus end-user educational curriculums around the globe. This is the first FCTP accreditation since the joining of the Fieldbus Foundation and HART Communication Foundation was completed, with the new FieldComm Group becoming operational on 1 January 2015

IDX Academy is also the first certified Foundation fieldbus training site on the African continent, with 17 Angolan students already having been through the five day course. The successful students are now proficient in the installation, maintenance, repair, and trouble-shooting of Foundation Fieldbus networks and systems.

At the official handover, Marc Van Pelt, FieldComm Group vice president for EMEA Operations (right), handed over a plaque commemorating this achievement to Ryan Coetzee from IDX (left). “Now that this certified training programme is being implemented in the Fieldcom Group we are delighted that IDX Academy has gained this accreditation,” he said. “We wanted our training to be standardised worldwide so we are very particular about the training institutes we choose and we are lucky to have IDX. We have worked with them for about a year and they have been through a very tough certification process. They are the first certified training partner in Africa.”

Come and meet the IDX team at stand A5 to learn more about this new training programme.
