Cylinder sensor holds output ­during weld-field detection

Intelligent cylinder sensors from ifm electronic detect the alternating field of the weld current and hold the output signal during this time, independently of the weld duration time. The MK5215 sensor then resumes normal switching operation (piston or no piston).

The GMR cell uses a semiconductor element according to the magnetic resistive principle and reacts to the magnetic fields of the permanent magnet in the pneumatic cylinder.

Thanks to the wide selection of optional adapters, the T-slot sensor can be fixed to almost any clean-line, tie rod, integrated profile or trapezoidal slot cylinder. The sensor fits flush in the T-slot with no protruding structures and its simple fit ’drop from the top’ into the slot feature makes it easy to use. The M8 or M12 connectors have a non-stick coating and PTFE conduit on the cable.

Operating voltage is 10 to 30 VDC and the sensor is protected against short circuits, reverse polarity and overloads. It has a response sensitivity of 2 mT.
