Sign panel power supply
December 2014
Electrical Power & Protection
Mean Well has unveiled a slender sign panel power supply with up to 200 W rated output power.
The HSN-200 series adopts an ultra low profile design with a width of just 62 mm, allowing the dimensions and weight of the sign module to be lowered, lessening the manufacturing cost, as well as relieving the inconvenience of installation.
The units have a non-power factor corrected design and achieve efficiency up to 88% at a low cost. The A-type accepts 90-132 VAC input, while the B-type accepts 180-264 VAC. The output side supplies 4,2 V and 5 VDC, working with both old and new generations of sign panel driver ICs.
HSN-200 exploits a fanless design; when mounted on an aluminium plate or in a cabinet, it can work from -25 through +70°C with free air convection cooling. This series also complies with UL60950-1. Standard functions include short circuit, overload, over-voltage and over-temperature protection. Suitable applications include indoor and outdoor LED electronic signage, LED moving signs, LED TV walls, etc.
