The common problems of polarisation and coating, or chemical attack and abrasion, which affect conventional electrode-type conductivity sensors, will not affect the GLI electrodeless sensors from PREI Instrumentation. These sensors operate by inducing an alternating current in a closed loop of solution, and then measuring the magnitude of this to determine the conductivity.
A variety of body materials are available to provide resistance to aggressive chemicals, and sanitary (CIP) versions are offered for use in the food and beverage industries. The sensors measure from 0-200 mS/cm to 0-2000 mS/cm and have a built-in Pt1000 RTD to automatically compensate for process temperature changes. Rugged and nonfouling, these sensors have versatile mounting configurations, making them suitable for in-line or submersion mounting, and they can be connected to a range of panel or wall-mounting instruments.
They are particularly useful for leak detection in heat exchanges, acid and caustic dilution, chemical concentration control, wet chemical scrubbers, solvent and water separators, and waste water applications in metal finishing, pulp and paper, pharmaceutical, food and chemical industries.
