In the first annual Siemens partner golf day, Siemens’ strategic partners from all over Africa were treated to a day of golf at the Serengeti Golf Estate outside Johannesburg.
Raymond Padayachee, Siemens industry sector CEO; Ryan Chetty, head of Siemens industry partner management; Uwe Haeberer Siemens worldwide business development and Steven Lautenbach, Siemens business development South Africa.
Part of the proceedings included a presentation on Adams Golf, a provider of premium quality golf clubs using cutting edge engineering technology – Ernie Els has recently signed Adams as a supplier. Siemens’ PLM digital engineering software suite has played a crucial role in designing this range of innovative clubs. The Siemens digital engineering software suite has also contributed to the design of the championship-winning Red Bull air racing craft, the development of Canon cameras, the design of the Boeing and Airbus, and even the Mars Curiosity Rover.
Siemens has 1300 solution partners worldwide in 70 countries. “This is a step change in the importance of our partners. Our partner programme is an integral part of the future growth of Siemens and for us this is a long-term commitment,” said Ryan Chetty, head of partner management at Siemens, as he laid out their envisaged role in the Siemens ‘go-to’ market strategy and outlined the many mutual benefits for both Siemens and its partners.
