In the water and wastewater industry high levels of contamination and build-up on instruments are common and can lead to failures. Many photoelectric sensors cannot operate reliably over the long term in such harsh conditions causing downtime, but this is not a problem for Telco Sensors.
In an application such as sludge detection where it is required either to detect the sludge or to detect the cleaner water, Telco Sensors light transmitter (LT) and light receiver (LR) (IP67 housing) can be used mounted in thru-beam mode inside the reservoir/dam/tank, for example on a ladder.
With a simple adjustment and setting on the external amplifier the LT and LR will either detect when sludge is present or detect when it is cleaner water. Telco Sensors are non-optical infrared devices able to sense through contamination on the front of the lenses.
