Countapulse Controls reports that Leuze has expanded its already extensive line of sensors with the recent introduction of the Leuze 18B sensor series. These high performance units have been engineered for use in all applications involving transparent media.
Compared to its predecessor, the Leuze 18B series offer smaller dimensions in a more robust housing. Benefits include shorter response times, higher switching frequency, improved adjustability of the switching point and a tracking function for extending the cleaning interval.
Engineered using the latest advances in sensor technology, the series is able to detect fast moving, small, thin and transparent objects – such as foils. The advantage is that this can be accomplished even under extreme conditions such as those found in the food and beverage and packaging industries.
Visibility of the light spot and the LED display has also been improved, which has also simplified the start-up and operation. The optics minimise light beam tolerances to the extent that mounting can be quickly performed without alignment. The electrical connection is established either via the M12 plug or the integrated cable.
