A.T. Technical Services’ wireless transmission module for inductive sensors
May 2014
Sensors & Transducers
In many positioning applications, an inductive sensor needs to be attached to a moving machine part. However, the power and signal cables can sometimes be very difficult to install requiring drag chain cables or abrasive wheels.
A.T. Technical Services is now able to offer a solution to the many mechanical and plant engineers who encounter this problem. What is needed is the tried and tested inductive sensor from steute, combined with a new wireless transmission module via a plug-in connector.
The equally compact and robust module can be mounted close to the sensor from where it transmits the data to a receiver unit, usually installed in the switchbox, using the EnOcean protocol in a choice of one, two or four channel versions.
The distance between the transmitter and receiver can be up to 300 metres depending on the surroundings, with the possibility of adding repeaters in problematic applications. Even in problematic environments containing radiating surfaces and other wireless transmitters, the steute wireless sensors guarantee a high level of transmission security.
The cylindrical wireless inductive sensors are available in three sizes M12, M18 and M30 sizes, all of them in flush or non-flush versions. In addition, the universal transmitter module can also be connected to other types of switchgear and sensors in order to make them wireless enabled.
