Siemens has launched a new flanged, encapsulated antenna with a measuring range of up to 20 metres for the Sitrans LR250 radar level transmitter. Advantage of the new antenna for the user: minimal maintenance and easy cleaning as there is no need to remove the flush-mounted lens antenna during clean-in-place (CIP) cycles.
The 2-wire, non-contacting 25 GHz pulse radar level transmitter has been designed to monitor liquids and slurries in storage and process vessels. The new antenna also opens up a wide range of applications, in particular those involving the kind of aggressive or corrosive media and high temperature or pressure environments found in the chemical, oil and gas and food and beverage industries.
Sitrans LR250 is available with Hart, Profibus PA or Foundation Fieldbus communication protocols. Thanks to the graphical Quick Start wizard, the instrument is operational within minutes, and the infrared handheld programmer supports local programming. Full function diagnostics comply with Namur NE 43. Sitrans LR250 has also achieved a SIL 2 functional safety declaration, making it suitable for use in safety instrumented systems.
