500 W enclosed low profile power supply

January 2014 Electrical Power & Protection

Mean Well has introduced its new low profile enclosed type power supply with single output and PFC function – RSP-500 series (500 W). The complete product line now covers the ranges 75, 100, 150, 200, 320, 500 and 750 W. By reducing the length of original SP-480 series, RSP-500 is smaller in size and up to 8% higher in working efficiency. The -30 to 70°C operating temperature range is also wider than the -20 to 60°C range of the original SP-480 series. Featuring high-efficiency and 1U low profile, RSP-500 is especially suitable for end users looking for cost effective power supplies with energy saving and low profile installation features.

Featuring 85-264 VAC input range, the supply provides 3,3-48 V selectable output voltage. The units are equipped with PFC function and possess up to 90% efficiency, they are cooled by the built-in fan from -30 to 50°C ambient under full load, and up to 70°C with suitable derating. Other built-in functions include remote sense, remote on/off, fan speed control and protections for short circuit, overload, over voltage and over temperature. All series comply with UL, CUL, TUV, CB, and CE regulations. Applications include general industrial control systems, instrumentation, LED displays and any systems requiring a low profile installation.
