Schneider Electric has introduced its safe and simple low voltage switchboards up to 3200 A. “The Prisma Plus is a modular and prefabricated solution based on a complete system in kit form that integrates with our switchgear offerings,” says Jaque Maré, product manager for installation systems at Schneider Electric South Africa. He explains that with the Prisma Plus solution, customers can be sure that the coordination between the switchgear and the current distribution system has been tested on all types of switchboard architecture, which favours flawless equipment operation.
The solution also ensures that both people and properties are safe. “All the most demanding switchboard configurations have been tested and are IEC standard compliant,” says Maré. “In addition, the busbars are located in a protected area and the clearances between conductors have been calculated to prevent any risk of internal arc or current leakage. Cable connection is performed in dedicated areas preventing any contact with live parts. Furthermore, the switchgear is installed behind a front plate so that only the operating handles are revealed.”
The Prisma Plus solution facilitates switchboard upgrading even if its size has been optimised during the design phase, resulting in deadlines and costs being controlled. In addition, it offers tools and support services to effectively help designers, panelbuilders, contractors and operators develop their skills. In order to respect the environment, the Prisma Plus solution reduces the environmental impact of the installations through a process of continual improvement in favour of sustainable development. Schneider Electric uses all its expertise to set up switchboard architectures, which optimise energy consumption.
“Prisma Plus is a solution based on more than 25 years of experience in low voltage switchboards with certified ISO 9001 quality production. Applications are vast and range from tertiary and industrial buildings in the data and telecom sector to retail, hospitality, industrial buildings, health, offices, education, sports, and leisure and culture sectors. In an industry where productivity matters, the Prisma Plus solution ensures panel builders and contractors are more efficient,” concludes Maré.
