Flexible addition to UPS' range

Electrical Power & Protection
Power Development Services, the South African distributor for Liebert Hiross power products, has recently extended their successful uninterruptible power supply (UPS) range to include the new Nfinity UPS range.
The lifeblood of many organisations now exists as digital information residing on networks and other communication highways. While this enables companies to be more responsive and flexible, it also makes them far more vulnerable to power problems. The ability to ride through power outages is important, but it is only one small slice of the critical protection pie. The truth is that dirty power (with sags, surges, frequency variations and harmonics) is far more frequent and more damaging to equipment than total power outages.
PDS says that its new range offers a good solution. High levels of UPS reliability can be achieved by the use of the on-line, double conversion, Nfinity UPS with its modular, scalable modules from 4 to 16 kVA - offering parallel redundancy of n+x.
The flexible nature of this system is such that the system can be configured in an n+1 configuration and upgraded as the load increases by simply adding another plug-in module. The modularity of the system also ensures short repair times.
The fault-tolerant design permits the power, battery and control modules to be automatically taken offline if there is a problem, without compromising system integrity. System level and individual module controls increase the UPS functionality and reliability. The hot-swappable modules ensure that the load will not have to be switched off and the internal bypass ensures additional power availability in the case of an 'n' system.
