Sensors that detect 0,8 mm objects up to 5 m away
September 2001
Sensors & Transducers
A range of laser sensors which offers high accuracy, allowing minute objects with a minimum of 0,8 mm diameter to be safely detected up to 5 m away, has been introduced by IFM Electronic. A visible laser light spot, visible on the object or reflector, provides easy sensor alignment.
The photoelectric sensors meet IP 68 requirements and are available in through-beam models with laser diodes and in retroreflective types with polarisation filter and laser diode. Both types have a front or side lens for easy operation and they are easily mounted by snapping them onto a high-grade stainless steel clip.
With their M8 connection, the sensors have an operating temperature range from -10 to +60°C. Three LEDs indicate the operational and switching status and function check, and the sensors are protected against reverse polarity, overloads and short circuits.
A comprehensive range of accessories is available including jumper cables, splitter boxes and sockets for quick and easy mounting. Precise alignment and easy installation of the sensors are made possible with the various options of mounting accessories.
