The O2V efector dualis pixel counter from ifm electronic is suited for use throughout the manufacturing process in a variety of inspection and error-proofing applications. It analyses the area of the object by counting pixels, identifying objects that vary in shape, size or shade. The die-cast metal housing integrates the image sensor, evaluation electronics and lighting. With its pushbutton setup, this compact CMOS vision sensor offers a 4-digit numeric display to indicate sensor output and carries a 100 mA maximum load current per switching output.
Applications include part verification, orientation, sorting, pattern matching, shape detection, object counting and contrast and inner/outer radius measurement.
An on-board lighting element illuminates the object and provides the correct amount of image brightness at various ranges: an easily accessible focus tool quickly defines images. The sensor features an easy-to-follow setup wizard that supports standard Ethernet TCP products. The 24 VDC units are available with PNP or NPN output and offer an IP67 protection rating with a 10-50°C operating temperature range.
