Reliable colour detection at variable distances

Sensors & Transducers
Several colours can be simultaneously evaluated with Wenglor’s new OFP401P0189 colour sensor, even at minimal distance changes. The sensor operates with white light and is distinguished by the intuitive menu prompting and an integrated wizard for colour teach-in within 60 seconds.
This sensor can be used wherever colours or contrasts need to be detected. Its ability to recognise even the slightest variance in the colour of objects and at varying distances is an important feature of this product. In addition to the integrated teach-in function, external teach-in is also possible.
The graphic display allows for easy, intuitive use with multilingual menu prompting and additional password protection offers security against unauthorised access.
The sensor has a configurable emitted light source that can be switched off entirely for the detection of self-luminous objects. The intensity of the emitted light can also be increased in order to detect dark objects. With a spot diameter of just 3 mm and a working range of 30-40 mm, complex detection tasks can easily be accomplished. The colour sensor is equipped with two digital inputs, three switching outputs and an RS-232 port for reading RGB, XYZ and HSL colour values.
