Extech Safety Systems appointed sole distributor for Extronics

September 2013 News

Founded in 1992, Extronics is a leading global designer and manufacturer of intrinsically safe and explosion proof equipment. From its UK headquarters, it serves customers that work in potentially explosive environments, especially those in the chemical, pharmaceutical, petrochemical and oil & gas industries.

As a result of a substantial investment programme in both R&D and technical skills, the company has developed considerable expertise in vision technologies, engineered solutions and wireless technologies for the hazardous area. Consequentially, Extronics is now recognised as a leader and innovator in the global hazardous area market. To serve this market, Extronics has developed a network of sales partners and resellers located in major industrial centres throughout the world.

Founded in the 1970s, Extech has served the southern African petrochemical, oil & gas, pharmaceutical and mining industries with equipment and expertise for hazardous areas.

Extech is involved with South African Flameproof Association (SAFA) and South African Bureau of Standards (SABS) in the development and adoption of standards and legislation.

Gary Friend, Extech sales director: “I have known of Extronics for many years and we are very pleased to have signed this agreement. Extronics offers new and exciting products that complement our existing scope of supply.”

“Extech has a marvellous reputation for customer service and support,” concludes Extronics sales director, Paul Lazor. “The industry knowledge and clear focus makes it an ideal partner for Extronics in the important South African market.”
