Hannover Fair organisers support new SA trade show

November 2012 News

Exhibition Management Services (EMS) has announced the launch of a European-style trade event based on research they have been conducting for the last three years. Designed as an umbrella event for African industrialists the South African Industry and Technology Fair, INDUTEC, consists of 10 compatible, co-located title events targeting different sectors of industry. The event will take place from 14–16 May 2013 at Gallagher Convention Centre in Johannesburg.

Based on four of EMSs already successful and long-established industrial shows, INDUTEC 2013 will be adding six more industry focus sectors to its line-up. Three of these have attracted the attention and support of one of Germany’s largest trade fair organisers. “Hannover Fairs International, a subsidiary of Deutsche Messe, is supporting Intermac Africa, Manutec Africa and Smart Automation Africa as suitable platforms for their international clients to access the South African market,” said Gotz Dormann, the company’s managing director.

The 10 sectors profiled re:

* Pumps Valves and Pipes Africa.

* Watertec Africa.

* Petro.t.ex Africa.

* Intermac Africa.

* Manutec Africa.

* Smart Automation Africa.

* Afriplast Expo.

* Energex Africa.

* Industrial GreenTec Africa.

* Empowertec Africa.

“By running Pumps Valves and Pipes, Watertec Africa, Petro.t.ex Africa and Energex Africa together in one venue in 2011 we proved that trade fairs in South Africa could undoubtedly benefit from the critical mass and synergy generated by this co-location,” said John Thomson, managing director of EMS.

“That was the start of a detailed examination of other compatible industry sectors not currently serviced by any trade exhibition platform that we could co-opt into a larger event in 2013. Simply put, INDUTEC fills a void offering local and international suppliers a viable conduit into the growing African manufacturing and engineering sectors, sectors whose output over the last 10 years has doubled.”

The new show idea is receiving significant interest from EMS’s extensive network of international representatives.
