The pDR series of nephelometers from Thermo Fisher Scientific provide a wide measurement range and precision in a portable, lightweight, user-friendly package for either active or passive sampling. These small direct-reading personal aerosol monitors were designed to provide accurate, real-time measurement of airborne particulate concentrations for numerous applications including: indoor air quality monitoring, time and motion studies, workplace and plant monitoring, emergency response, remote alarming and mobile monitoring in vehicles and aircraft.
The latest addition, the Thermo Scientific pDR1500, is a fully integrated, active sampling, real-time aerosol monitor and data-logger. The pDR1500 offers powerful, increased capabilities and a flexible, compact design for enhanced portability. Capable of compensating for all typical environmental variables, the unit is designed for relative humidity compensation, true volumetric flow and pressure compensation. The pDR1500 aerosol monitor also features interchangeable cyclones for superior particle-cut points, as well as an integrated sample filter that enables post-gravimetric validation of all data.
The Thermo Scientific pDR1000AN is capable of measuring mass concentrations of dust, smoke, mists and fumes in real-time and sounds an audible alarm whenever the user-defined level is exceeded. Utilising single beam nephelometry, the pDR1000AN incorporates light-scattering to produce optimal particle response for high correlation with standard gravimetric measurements. With data-logging enabled, the instrument automatically tags and time stamps the collected data to be stored for subsequent retrieval, printing or graphing.
