Dimming detectors for warehouse applications

In warehouse applications, Direct Dim from CP Electronics allows detectors to measure and control luminaire outputs. Therefore, when forklift trucks or warehouse personnel enter a defined zone, lighting can be switched on to the full operational level or adjusted to the luminance level where required. When forklift trucks or warehouse personnel leave that zone, the lighting output can be reduced over time to a minimum preset value, or turned off completely.
Often there is a health and safety requirement to keep the lighting at a minimum level so that if personnel or plant are not moving, possibly due to an accident, there should be enough light available to see something is wrong. These light levels, timings and other operating parameters can all be programmed via long-range infrared programming handset that allows the installer to adjust functionality from the safety of ground level.
Digital detectors can control up to 20 dimming ballasts while analogue detectors can control up to 10. Additional features include two channel flexibility, scene setting and recall, step-down luminance and lamp burn-in. User handsets are available to control on/off, lux levels and preset scenes.
