Allpronix was recently awarded an order for the supply of high resolution Ethernet IP cameras and outdoor Wi-Fi units to a game farm in KwaZulu-Natal. Farm owner, Wouter van der Merwe, had several incidents of poachers illegally entering his farm to slaughter rhinos for their horns. As a countermeasure, he decided to install day/night cameras at strategic locations around the farm connected to AirMax2 Wi-Fi units that send the video feeds back to a PC at the main office. The remote cameras and wireless field devices are all solar powered for convenience.

With the excellent night vision capabilities of the OD-325HD 4 mm camera, the client is now able to see activity even on the darkest nights and without having to install any additional lighting. The internal motion detection function is used to trigger recording to the hard drives should it be needed for evidence. The camera and software support remote viewing of live camera feeds, meaning that management can view the camera feeds from anywhere using a PC, laptop or smartphone plus an Internet connection.
The OD-325HD 4 mm camera, the AriMax2 outdoor Wi-Fi CPE and the 85 Watt solar panels are IP65 rated and ready to use in harsh outdoor applications. The backup batteries, solar regulator and termination connectors were installed in an IP65 housing. Because of its stance against poaching, Allpronix offered the equipment at a discount and supplied free labour for the installation.
