New functionality in Leuze 3B sensors

February 2012 Sensors & Transducers

The functions of the Leuze 3B compact sensor series have been extended to include the HRTR 3B-V and HRTL 3B reflection light scanners to give users a small reflection light scanner with a wide range of functionality. In addition to its large operating ranges, improved performance reserves for reliable object detection and high alignment tolerance capability, the Leuze 3B sensor is simple to install and operate. The sensor incorporates technologies such as Active Ambient Light Suppression (A2LS) and brightVision for easy handling and fast commissioning. Another first is the option of either laser class 1 or 2, each offers excellent scanning range limits of 400 or 500 mm.

The versatility of the range of Leuze 3B sensors ensures that the following functions are available for sensing applications :

* Retro-reflective photoelectric sensor and light scanner for standard applications.

* Light scanner with special light-spot profiles such as rectangular or small and with background suppression.

* Light scanner with V-optics and background suppression.

* Sensors incorporating auto-collimation.

* Retro-reflective photoelectric sensors and light scanners with laser light and collimated light beam propagation.

* Energetic light scanner available with fading and background suppression.

* Throughbeam photoelectric sensors with small light beam propagation and a high range.

All sensors in the Leuze 3B range are robust in design and offer maximum performance reserve with high extraneous light protection as well as energy savings through lower power consumption. The sensors are protected to IP67 and offer protection against manipulation by means of a lockable button.
