A battery pack is now available for the GSM/GPRS radio unit PlicsMobile T61. This is Vega’s standalone transmitting and receiving unit, used for automated process data exchange from mobile measuring points where the distances are too great for industrial wireless measurement data transmission.
The instrument is used primarily for applications in which the measuring site and the signal processing are located far away from each other, eg, mobile transport containers, deep wells, precipitation measuring stations, waste oil gathering points or river and sea level measurements. With the battery pack the T61 is completely self-sufficient, requiring no external energy for transmitting measured values and supplying power to the connected level sensor.
The transmitting and receiving unit is connected as a separate radio to a sensor. A SIM card and built-in modem enable worldwide GSM/GPRS data transmission – including remote diagnostics and maintenance. The unit complements existing solutions with signal conditioning instruments especially in the area of VMI (vendor managed inventory). For battery operation, PlicsMobile is equipped with an intelligent energy management system. The normal service life of the battery is approximately four years, depending on factors such as transmission cycles, sensor type or outdoor temperature.
