Brose Fahrzeugteile and SEW-Eurodrive have concluded an agreement to establish Brose-SEW Elektromobilitäts, a joint venture for electric mobility solutions. The goal of the new joint venture is to develop, produce and market drive and charging systems for electric and hybrid vehicles. Each partner will hold 50% of the business shares and the company headquarters will be in Bruchsal, Germany.
As SEW-Eurodrive is the market leader for electric motors and controls in industrial applications and Brose the leader for mechatronic systems and electric motors for vehicle bodies and interiors, this joint venture combines the strengths of the companies as well as their experience of the manufacture of electric motors and the associated electronics and charging systems.
The partners have created a unique combination of research and development know-how for drive systems of the power classes 1 to 150 kW in a newly-founded joint venture that can respond flexibly to customer requirements in the automobile industry.
