The Q5.5 tiny rectangular sensor from Turck features an advanced design including a unique LED light bar that is visible from three sides to provide mounting versatility; the LED indicates 'output energised'. The Q5.5 will fit near or inside machinery where standard sensors are too large to incorporate and provides superior range characteristics. It is good for solving origin and end limit detection, robot chuck position, cam detection, linear guide motion and other applications where space is limited.
Manufactured with a new injection-mould process that provides superior sealing, the waterproof housing of the Q5.5 measures just 5,5 mm high by 3,0 mm wide by 28,0 mm deep. The proximity sensors provide 2 mm sensing range and are fully embeddable in steel. Using three wires, it provides repeatability less than and equal to 2% of rated operating distance and is available with normally open NPN (sinking) or PNP (sourcing) complementary outputs. Integral circuitry protects it from short-circuit, overload, wire-break and reverse polarity. A special metal mounting screw insert, with countersink on one side, allows the sensor to be mounted face up or face down.
Designed for use in harsh industrial environments, the sensor's injection-moulded plastic housing and potted-in 2 m PVC-jacketed cable withstand washdown. The Q5.5 has an operating temperature range of -25 to +70°C and is rated IEC IP 67.
