Pressure sensors for hygienic applications

July 2011 Sensors & Transducers

The new PI27xx pressure sensors from ifm electronic feature a high grade stainless steel housing which is resistant to cleaning agents used in the food and pharma industries. They also have distinctive lasered, captive type labels.

The new series has the same excellent features and characteristics as the previous PI range: high protection IP 69K, hygienic design, high temperature resistance, a high purity ceramic measuring cell, high quality materials (wetted parts) and intuitive operation.

With its high temperature resistance, the PI27xx is suitable for SIP and CIP processes. It has an enhanced sealing system and a hygienic, flush design with a high purity ceramic measuring cell. High overall accuracy is 0,2%, with electronic temperature compensation.

Additional features include a programmable analogue and switching output and a new G1 process connection with four sealing options.

Telco sensors in the pulp and paper industry
Gail Norton Instrumentation Sensors & Transducers
The pulp and paper industry poses a major problem for most photoelectric sensors. The high level of contamination in these dusty, dirty and grimy environments makes it impossible for most competing sensors to operate and sense reliably and efficiently.

Always keeping an eye on the measured values
ifm - South Africa Electrical Power & Protection
Despite growing digitalisation, there are still many situations where analogue measured values such as the level in a tank or the temperature of a climatised room must be directly readable in the control cabinet or at the control desk. The current loop display is designed for precisely this purpose.
