The Lapp Group has released a basket of new products and re-invented some old ones to add extra convenience for its users this year. On the cabling front, Ölflex Classic is now available in a smaller diameter size to save space, while Ölflex Solar is ideal for PV power systems with its reduced flame propagation and toxic gas emission in the event of a fire. Ölflex Trafo is a new flexible and mechanically robust single-conductor power cable designed to connect the converters and transformer substations at solar installations. The range of Profibus cables has also been improved with a UV and weather-resistant black sheathing.
2011 also saw Lapp evolve the Profibus connector to incorporate different connection angles and interoperable market standards. Epic’s range of industrial and circular connectors has been extended alongside the Flexmark system, which has specially designed marking features and software for a variety of label printing applications.
Cable accessories were also improved. The Skintop Cube, an innovative multicable bushing system with variable clamping options for high assembly flexibility, was launched as was the Silvyn Chain termination kit. A new generation crimping tool was also added with features including: a stronger head for bigger crimps; a wider die opening for easy access and an improved ratchet release mechanism.
