The trend towards reducing greenhouse gas emissions means that use of these gases is to be reduced or avoided wherever possible. For arc-quenching in high voltage switchgear, however, there is simply no substitute for a gas like sulphur-hexafluoride (SF6).
If its use cannot be avoided, then it must be controlled. That is where the GFU08-W from WIKA comes in. WIKA’s GFU08 series gas filling unit is intended for the emission free topping up of SF6 tanks. However, the incorporation of a high-accuracy, low profile load-cell on the cart, makes the GFU08-W useful for precise reporting on gas emissions.
The model series GFU08 consists of rugged and versatile transport carts for SF6 cylinders to top-up SF6 filled compartments. The concept is designed with connections and plugs for world-wide use.
The GFU08-W has a built-in cylinder scale and allows precise weighing of the SF6 amount filled into compartments. This is ideal for using the mass-balance method of reporting SF6 gas emissions through the special low-profile load cell integrated in the cart under the gas cylinder. The cylinders can be easily handled on the transport cart by one individual.
