With geographical coverage now available from GSM/GPRS networks, Omniflex has introduced a new range of products to utilise this technology by providing the ability to monitor all types of data from virtually any location. This data can be sent to the people who need it, when they need it, via SMS, e-mail or fax.
These systems are now widely being implemented for remote service engineers who are home based and need to provide a response to alarms, sometimes 24 hours a day.
This technology is providing companies with unparalleled customer service, cost savings and extensions to the life of equipment, through extended preventative maintenance that acts on potential faults before they become catastrophic.
The Omniflex solution is based around the D2D (Data To Desktop) product range. The solution consists of a suitable data gathering device available from the Omniflex M2 or Maxiflex I/O system range, which provides GSM/GPRS data access points and connects to all the plant devices, machinery or remote assets that require monitoring. The data is collected, stored and sent to the D2D data centre where it can be accessed remotely via a password protected web browser, enabling the data to be monitored 24 hours a day seven days a week. Any number of alarms can be configured to notify a service engineer’s mobile number via SMS or e-mail so that they can react immediately.
