Lapp Group achieves record time

May 2011 News

This follows the successful joint development and release of the Mitsubishi Adroit Process Suite (MAPS) at the SPS show in Nuremburg in November 2010. MAPS offers Mitsubishi Electric customers and channel partners an integrated software and hardware platform aimed at reducing initial engineering and advancing the quality of an as built solution through extended tools and management software.

Hartmut Puetz, executive vice president of Mitsubishi Electric Factory Automation in Europe: “This investment secures our offering and future proofs commitments and investments made by customers in our products. Adroit Technologies has world-class software and a proven track record of large scale solutions in many different industries. In addition, its strategy of building value around automation solutions in the form of alarm management and analysis tools, and the recently released Adroit Scada Business Intelligence and Reporting platforms, is both ground breaking and extremely productive.”

Chris Hazlewood, marketing manager of Mitsubishi Electric Europe FA, adds, “The Adroit Scada and MAPS offers our customers a completely scalable offering from HMI capability for our OEM customers to unlimited, redundant solutions for large process plants. In addition, Adroit offers specific functionality for niche markets such as manufacturing performance management using OEE, and energy and network management – all important for our customers.”

Adroit Technologies managing director, Dave Wibberley comments: “Mitsubishi Electric is not only the world’s largest manufacturer of PLC’s, but its entire product offering is superb and the team has a great vision of where it wants to be. Our joint development around MAPS and the ancillary products we have on offer complemented this strategy perfectly.”

Puetz concludes: “Mitsubishi Electric has always been strong in the OEM market and now with MAPS we will also be able to penetrate and compete in the broader process industry through projects. We have a particular focus on water, food and beverage and mining, MAPS gives us an edge in these areas. So far the feedback from our partners has been extremely positive and we look forward to a long and profitable relationship with Adroit Technologies.”

The transaction will see Mitsubishi Electric distributing and supporting MAPS and other related software in Europe through its existing channels.
