Ellison Sensors introduced the GS4200 USB digital pressure transducer three years ago to satisfy the need for a more flexible approach to pressure measurement. The latest development allows measurement of up to 16 pressure inputs simultaneously from one computer.
The GS4200 USB transducer can measure, analyse and record pressure directly onto a PC or laptop. Power is provided from the USB port, eliminating the need for further connections. ESI-USB configurable software supplied with the transducer presents the data, and it automatically configures with the computer. Available in pressure ranges from 0-500 bar and 0-3000 bar, the transducer has a fast sample rate which enables dynamic pressures to be measured with up to 21 bit resolution. It is based on silicon on sapphire technology, ensuring high accuracy and stability.
In a typical application the British Geological Survey will use the transducer to measure multiple inputs simultaneously, with a single transducer window on the screen displaying the pressure status of a number of experiments at the same time.
