Locally manufactured conveyor protection

Electrical Power & Protection
CHI Control Components is a supplier of low voltage equipment directly to OEMs and panel builders. The company has a family of locally designed and manufactured components for conveyor protection, with the latest in the range being a conveyor belt Rip Switch.
CHI’s range of conveyor protection products provide an essential role in protecting conveyor belts and all the ancillary equipment associated with conveyor systems. A ripped belt can result in production not only being stopped, but damage to conveyor idlers and rollers and the conveyor structure itself. The conveyor belt switch is used in conveyor systems to provide a fail-safe stop mechanism for torn or ripped conveyor belts. The Rip Switch is typically installed just after the loading point where the belt is more likely to develop tears or rips and at 300 metre intervals on longer conveyors. Once activated these switches isolate the control circuits of the motors driving the conveyors and other process equipment. The Rip Switch is rated IP66 and complies with IEC standards.
Other products in the range based on the company’s solid anvil design include a conveyor speed switch, conveyor alignment switch as well as the conveyor belt trip switch that the company has been supplying to industry since the 1960s.
