Compact 150 Watt power supply

March 2011 Electrical Power & Protection

XP Power has announced the launch of its ECP150 series of efficient and compact open frame 150 W AC-DC power supplies that comply with UL/EN/IEC60950-1 and UL/EN/IEC60601-1 safety standards for medical and IT equipment. The units have a no load input power of less than 0,5 W and a typical efficiency of 91%, helping the end equipment comply with internationally recognised energy efficiency initiatives.

Operating from a 90-264 VAC input, there are five single output models available within the range, covering the nominal outputs of +12, +15, +24, +28 or +48 VDC. A 12 V/0,5 A output is also provided to power an external fan if required. Up to 100 W output is achieved by convection cooling alone, and with nominal forced cooling the full 150 W output is available. The ECP150 has an operating temperature range from -20 to + 70°C, to suit most environments.

The units comply with the EN55022 level B standard for conducted noise without the need for additional filtering components. Over-voltage, overload and short-circuit protection features are included as standard across the range.
