ReeR’s EOS 4 and EOS 2 safety barriers are designed for applications with space and cost saving in mind. The ‘no dead zone’ on one side feature, allows 90° installations while maintaining a minimum 40 mm resolution. The Type 4 SIL 3 EOS meets IP65 and IP67 requirements making it immune to dust penetration and water jets from any direction, as well as being resistant to the effects of immersion.
The sensors provide a protected height from 150 to 1500 mm with a 0–12 m operating range. Start-up time is less than 2 seconds over an operating temperature range of -10 to 55°C. Connection is via M12 connectors with standard cables up to 100 m. The devices have a built-in monitoring and start/restart interlock functions. The EOS family is certified according to EN 61496-1-2, ISO/EN 13849-1, EN 62061 and IEC 61508.
