The Gammapilot M (FMG60) from Endress+Hauser offers a compact, safe radiometric transmitter combining the latest technology with tried and tested level measurement techniques. The fundamental benefits include continuous level measurement, level limit and interface layer and density measurement. The unit consists of a transmitter, radiometric source and source container. An optional cage to tamperproof the source container is available if required.
The source container houses the radioactive isotope and incorporates a feature that allows radiation to be disabled if the area needs to be made safe during maintenance periods. An integrated locking mechanism on the container ensures that only authorised personnel have access to the container.
Since an incorrectly sized source can be costly in terms of time, logistics and safety, Endress+Hauser’s Applicator software package is available to determine the required isotope activity based on the application requirements Applicator also determines the ambient radiation around the source during operation, which assists in demarcating the controlled access area.
Endress+Hauser’s non-contact radiometric instrumentation has been installed in more than 40 000 applications worldwide. Generally, radiometric instrumentation is used for measuring applications in extreme conditions such as toxicity, abrasion, high temperatures and high pressures.
