150 Watt LED power supply
January 2011
Electrical Power & Protection
Mean Well has launched its new 150 W AC/DC U-bracket type LED power supply with active PFC function – the ULP-150 series. With constant voltage design and 90-295 VAC input range, ULP-150 series can fulfil most mains requirements around the world. The built-in active PFC function meets the harmonic current requirements per EN61000-3-2 Class C, and also meet the demand of PF>0.9 if loading over 50%. In addition, these power units are equipped with 4 kV surge immunity level (EN61000-4-5) to comply with the requirements of street lighting applications making them suitable for assembly inside the lamp head of an LED streetlight.
With up-to-date zero current/zero voltage switching technology, the supply has efficiency up to 93% of high efficiency and can be cooled by free air convection only from -30 to 60°C ambient temperature. By adding a heatsink, an even higher temperature of +70°C can be obtained, which conforms to the high working temperature requirement of closed lighting fixtures. All series are semi-encapsulated for PCB protection, by providing anti-moisture, anti-dust and also heat dissipation. Other standard functions include ±10% output voltage adjustment and short circuit, overload, over-voltage, and over-temperature protection.
