Levelflex - next level instrumentation

November 2010 Level Measurement & Control

Safe – precise – efficient.

The introduction of the new Levelflex series of guided radar instruments represents the next level of instrumentation from Endress+Hauser; supporting its customers in their efforts to increase plant and process efficiency. The product line has been designed and developed in accordance with the latest safety and industry standards to fit seamlessly into petrochemical, power, energy and mining applications.

The new Levelflex FMP55 Multiparameter is the first instrument with SensorFusion, a combination of guided wave radar technology with the capacitance measurement principle for interface measurement with the highest reliability. The term ‘SensorFusion’ is used when the combination of two different principles achieves significantly better results than each of the principles individually – exactly what Endress+Hauser say the Levelflex FMP55 for interface measurement offers its customers.

The family comprises eight products that can be used in ether basic or complex applications. The high-performance Levelflex devices can be used in high-pressure and high-temperature conditions, complex interface measurement or applications in gases and steams. A new and modern product design, combined with a selection of housing materials, allows convenient commissioning and operation of the instruments. According to Endress+Hauser the features of the product establish new benchmarks for level instrumentation: dynamic, continuously adapting evaluation algorithms to guarantee precise measurement results, confirmed and documented with a 5-point linearity protocol based on measurements performed on a company certified rig. An intuitive and user-friendly menu guide, a unique data management system via the integrated HistoROM and a comprehensive concept for device and process diagnostics complete the Next Level Instrument profile.
