SEW-Eurodrive promises a show stopper

October 2010 News

SEW-Eurodrive says it will be pulling out the stops at this year's Electra-Mining to ensure visitors are treated to something interesting and unique. “Electra-Mining is not just an opportunity for us to showcase our products but also our special marketing abilities,” says Ute Bormann, GM for sales and marketing in South Africa. “In our sector, SEW has earned a reputation for having the ability to surprise.”

In addition to launching the new range of planetaries, which will be assembled and stocked at the company’s Industrial Gears facility in Nelspruit, SEW will also be showcasing its energy saving DR motors, the mechatronic drive Movigear and various other energy efficient solutions.

“The main theme for this year’s show came about after a few brainstorming sessions which lead us back to basics – let us do what we do best – show customers how a gearbox is assembled, assist the customer to identify common reasons for failures and offer our expertise as the subject matter expert. In short customers will be visiting a mini-factory on our stand,” says Bormann.

The company will be assembling gearboxes on the stand daily and visitors are invited to view exactly how this is done. The repairs and service departments will be on hand to showcase common problems that customers may experience and offer advice on maintenance. The sales team will be available to assist customers with the use of the latest SEW software tools to select the correct products for an application.

Borman says that Electra-Mining would not be complete without an interesting and audience captivating affair. For this purpose, SEW will be hosting a cocktail party on Thursday 7 October during which instrumental pop supergroup, Sterling EQ, will be giving a live performance. Visit SEW-Eurodrive in Hall 6 Stand J 2 from 4-8 October at the Nasrec Exhibition Centre.
