Gothenburg-based SKF has taken social responsibility to heart by donating time and funds to develop sporting and other skills in communities and schools. The Gothia Cup, hailed as one of most popular youth football tournaments in the world, has been hosted in Sweden for the past 30 years. South African winners of the SKF ‘Meet the World Tournament’, the Junior Lions, left local shores to compete with some of the best juniors in the world and played in games that thrilled the supporters who came to Sweden. The Junior Lions finished in the top 16 out of 144 teams, the spectators loved them, and they wowed a soccer crowd that clearly recognised the talent, passion and heart the South African youngsters displayed.
