Accurate field process measurements

August 2010 Maintenance, Test & Measurement, Calibration

Only 900 grams in weight and featuring a large dual display, Calys handheld simulators provide the right tools for maintenance and test bench processes in a variety of industries where temperature, resistance, current, voltage, frequency, pressure and other parameters must be measured with accuracy up to 0,005%. The top of the range, Calys 150, can also calibrate HART transmitters and thermistors, drive calibration furnaces and complies with both 21 CFR Part 11 and NADCAP heat treatment standards.

The documenting process calibrators provide a single instrument solution to perform field and laboratory measurements on process signals. Calibration procedures can be stored in the device and results saved for fast and easy calibration on site. Then, the data can be uploaded to a computer in order to issue customised calibration certificates using the dedicated software provided.

The high performances of the Calys 50/75/100/150 cater from basic needs to accurate advanced user functionality (all accuracies shown as %RDG):

* Temperature – up to 0,005.

* Resistance –up to 0,006 (50 k range).

* Current – up to 0,007 (100 mA range).

* Voltage – up to 0,005 (50 V range).

* Frequency – up to 0,01 (100 kHz range).

[RDG – used to distinguish percentage accuracy that varies proportionally to the measured span (% of reading) from one which is a fixed percentage of the maximum measurement reading (% of full scale)].

Extended functionalities including scaling, steps, synthesiser, statistical functions and audit trails make advanced data exploitation and full data traceability easy.
