Kübler’s new incremental magnetic systems RI50 and LI50, with their rugged die-cast housing and minimal installation depth of 16 mm are suited to a wide spectrum of applications in plant and machinery where installation space is limited.
The sensors are equipped with a large hollow shaft 30 mm in diameter and the non-contact sensor technology offers high levels of resistance to vibration and shock. Outdoor use is also possible as the housing is IP67 rated for humidity levels up to 100% with condensation, and shielded against electromagnetic interference. The magnetic measuring systems provide all the signals of incremental encoders: A, A-, B, B-, as well as 0 and 0-.
Installation is easy due to the large mounting tolerances (up to 2 mm) between magnetic ring and sensor head. An LED provides a warning signal if the distance from the band or the ring to the measuring head is too great or if the speed is too high. The wide supply voltage range from 4,8–30 VDC further facilitates installation.
Connection is made using shielded PUR cable that can be used in trailing cable (drag chain) installations if required. The measuring head comes with either a push-pull output or an RS422 interface. Resolution is up to 5 μm with quadruple evaluation and the maximum travelling speed is 25 m/s.
