Experience Rockwell's Automation University

July 2010 Training & Education

Rockwell Automation’s biennial Automation University is taking place from 18–19 August at Emperors Palace. The Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA) region’s most significant and exciting free manufacturing event enables participants to learn more about the company’s industrial automation business solutions, as well as personally experience a number of its products.

Automation University is specifically designed to allow professionals in the fields of management, engineering, maintenance, purchasing and IT the opportunity to discuss current and emerging challenges with industry colleagues, technical specialists and business consultants – all in a relaxed, friendly, non-sales environment.

The event takes place over two days, offering multiple hands-on laboratories, live demonstrations, seminars and industry sessions. It features many of Rockwell Automation’s technology partners and a large central exhibition area where visitors can view the latest products and technologies.

Due to differing regional needs, Rockwell tailors the direction and content helping to make the information, technology and advice at the show the best possible fit for local and contemporary issues. The parallel streams and variety of offerings also enable users to tailor a programme that suits their requirements so they do not miss out on vital sessions or have to sit through presentations that are not specifically relevant to them.

The main topics this year are integrated architecture and manufacturing convergence, holistic plant safety, intelligent motor control and automation software. The information provided on these topics is relevant to various applications within South African industries such as mining, power generation, water and wastewater, oil and gas and food and beverage.

Attendance is free and on average, 450 people can be accommodated. Places are always in demand and feedback shows that visitors leave with new ideas, directions and the feeling that the event should have been longer.
